COLLECTION
The MOSTI Library possesses a collection of materials specifically focused towards the topics of policies, management and indications of science, technology and innovation (STI). Furthermore, there are also collections of materials in other fields of subject such as management, motivation, religion and light reading materials. The main collections of MOSTI Library are available in the forms of monographs, reports, journals, statistical data and research reports published by MOSTI.
The library collections were in various types and formats such as atlas, encyclopaedia, yearbook, dictionaries, serials, theses, periodicals, bulletin, reports, brochures, info graphics and electronic materials such as DVDs and CDs. These materials are classified in several collections:
1. Open Shelf Collection
A collections of library materials that can be leaded by users. It consists of books, reports, annual reports of other ministries/agencies, light reading materials and serial materials which is magazine and journal in various types of fields.
2. Reference Collection
Reference collection refers to Encyclopaedias, Dictionaries, Acronyms, Vocabulary, Biography and Directories. These are non-circulated items, which can be referred within the library only.
3. Nadir Collection
Nadir Collection refers to publications issued before the 1990s and /or hard-to-get-away or have run out of print. It is also the heritage ministry as it contains valuable information for future references. The example of these collections such as First National Science and Technology Policy (1986-1989) and Annual Report of National Council for Scientific Research and Development (MPKSN) 1978-1979. There collections are non-circulated items and to be used within the library only. Any enquiry please refer Library Counter.
4. Serials Collection
Serials collections consist of titles in various subjects such as science and technology, management, language, economy, health and technology. Items in the serials collection are available in variety of formats such as journals, magazines, newspapers, online databases and electronic journals.
The library has over 200 titles of printed journals, reports, yearbooks, directories etc. Services available are stated below:

| SERIALS | Both current and back volumes of journals are placed together on the open shelves. Two years of previous issues for science and technology subject are place at stack room. Please request at library counter. |
| POPULAR MAGAZINES | Consist of local popular magazines and international popular magazines. For recent year publication, are display at open shelves of Serials Section. Previous issues are bounded according to year of publication and available at the open shelves. |
| DAILY NEWSPAPERS | Five (5) local daily newspaper in Malay and English languages: Berita Harian, Utusan Malaysia, Harian Metro, New Straits Times and The Star are available at Serials Section. |
| BACK ISSUE NEWSPAPERS | Previous 6 months five (5) local daily newspaper issues are available. Please request at Library counter. |
| ELECTRONIC & ONLINE DATABASES | Access to electronic resources is restricted to eligible MOSTI Library users only includes Department/Agencies, GLC and CLG under MOSTI (permitted access for OpenAthens MD Directory Database). ONLINE DATABASES The library subscribes to 4 online databases, includes 1 legal database and has 14 open access databases that are accessible via World Wide Web. For list of online databases, please refer to the library website. ELECTRONIC JOURNALS There are 36 subscribes electronic journals are accessible via World Wide Web. Searchable through the MOSTI Library Portal (E-Resources | OpenAthens MD Directory Database & OECD iLibrary). ELECTRONIC BOOKS The library has about 51 titles. Searchable through the MOSTI Library Catalogue, MOSTI Information Repository System and at the OpenAthens MD Directory Database |
| OFFICIAL PUBLICATIONS | Various official publication which consist of Malaysian government publications; foreign government; local, national, international and regional organization; business organizations; universities and colleges; NGO, associations and societies. Available at the open shelves. |
| MOSTI PUBLICATIONS | These collection for reference only. If these any extra copies, users can request for loan or having a copy for Department/ Agencies reference. Users may ask to field up certain form for our statistic and records. Any enquiries please refer at Library Counter. |
5. Multimedia Collection
Multimedia collection includes audio video materials, DVDs and CDs. There are non-circulated items and to be used within the library only. Any enquiries please refer at Library Counter.
